I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. My Father may have kick started my interest to be an artist when I was a young child. I remember being fascinated by a big drawing he made for me of a sea serpent. The piece ofpaper he used was as large as our kitchen table and I was in awe of it. My Mother studied drafting in high school and I inherited some of her drawing tools, so I guess the foundation was already set.

I went on to attend the Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts and later earned a BA in Illustration from Syracuse University. I worked as a freelance graphic artist for several years then began working on staff at a local arcade game manufacturer.

The desire to create finished art is always with me. I like to create art that means something to the viewer. That something may be a simple emotion. I like for my work to be based on some kind of history and perhaps tell a story. This may be what attracts me to do commission work as quite often the piece itself becomes a part of someone's family history or tells something about my client's life. I also enjoy using people, architecture and automobiles as subjects and especially like to be able to combine two or all of these elements together within the same piece.

After tyring almost every painting media on the planet I keep coming back to watercolor. I tend to have a short attention span and watercolor lets me work quickly. It is also a decisive and finite media in that changes are not easily made. You cannot keep going back and reworking a watercolor painting so you have to be sure of what you are doing from the start. Watercolor does have a bit of a mind of its own so there is an element of spontaneity as well. Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and conact me with any questions or inquiries or stories to share.
